Split testing (also known as A/B testing) is a great way to compare the effectiveness of two similar campaigns with minor adjustments. For example, you could compare the use of emojis in your subject lines by split testing a broadcast email that does and does not contain an emoji.
You can use segmentation rules to A/B test your automations or broadcast emails. To do so:
- Duplicate your broadcast or automation so that you have one for each test group.
- To one of the duplicates, apply the rule
contact email contains j
. - To the other duplicate apply the rule
contact email does not contain j
. - Customize your email or subject lines as necessary and activate to start sending.
Note: the letter can be adjusted to any value that works best to split your contact group.
